DriveLog — Learner logbook hours

DriveLog helps learners and supervisors keep a personal record of driving practice, with trip details, day and night totals, and PDF summaries. It does not replace an official logbook or guarantee acceptance by a licensing authority; use the required records for your jurisdiction.

Questions

Is DriveLog an officially accepted learner logbook?

DriveLog is a personal practice diary, not an officially approved logbook app. In NSW, Service NSW identifies Roundtrip as the only official logbook app accepted by Transport for NSW; use Roundtrip or the official paper logbook for your required record.

How should I use DriveLog in my jurisdiction?

Use DriveLog to review your practice alongside the required official record. Hour targets and PDF exports do not establish approval; check the authority linked below before relying on any record for a test.

  • New South Wales: Keep the required record in the official paper logbook or Roundtrip. DriveLog is a supplementary diary and cannot submit your hours to Transport for NSW.

  • Victoria: Use the VicRoads learner logbook or myLearners for your official record. DriveLog can help you review practice but is not a substitute for that process.

    Official guidance ↗
  • Queensland: Use an accepted logbook format, such as the Queensland Learner Logbook app, paper logbook, or an approved third-party app. DriveLog is not an approved submission app.

    Official guidance ↗
  • South Australia: Electronic records must produce a printout with the same information as the Driving Companion paper logbook. DriveLog has not been verified against that requirement; check the required fields and format before relying on its PDF.

    Official guidance ↗
  • Western Australia: Use the official paper logbook or Learn&Log in ServiceWA for the required record. DriveLog is a separate personal diary and does not submit hours through Learn&Log.

    Official guidance ↗
  • Tasmania: Follow Service Tasmania’s learner logbook process and its linked Logbook app or paper logbook. DriveLog is a supplementary practice record, not that official service.

    Official guidance ↗
  • Australian Capital Territory: Complete the ACT learner logbook and required assessments. DriveLog can help organise practice but does not replace the issued logbook or assessment record.

    Official guidance ↗
  • Northern Territory: Use DriveLog as a personal practice diary. The NT Learners’ Guide describes a supervised-driving log as a learning aid; follow MVR requirements and any requirements of your driver-training program.

    Official guidance ↗
  • United States: Requirements, forms, signatures, and submission methods vary by state and DC. Confirm them with your motor vehicle agency; a built-in hour target or DriveLog PDF does not guarantee acceptance.

What is the PDF for?

The PDF is a personal summary to review with your supervisor and keep with your own records. In-app signatures do not replace any official signature, declaration, app, or form required by your licensing authority.
