One paid download: Sydline has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. It runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later, with a companion app for watchOS 26 or later.
Choose whether to add buses: Sydney bus data is a separate, larger download in Settings. Once installed, it supports offline departure boards and route browsing; journey planning remains for trains, Metro, light rail, and ferries.

Questions

Does Sydline work offline?

Yes. Published departures, trip planning, fare estimates, and the network map use timetable data stored on your device, including Sydney Ferries. Bus data needs an initial optional download, then its departure boards and route browsing work offline. Live alerts, train positions, road incidents, and timetable updates need a connection. Scheduled departures are not a guarantee of real-time running.

Which services can I plan journeys on?

Sydline 1.4.1 covers Sydney Trains, Sydney Metro, Sydney light rail, and Sydney Ferries, with departure boards across 266 stops. The optional Sydney bus download adds departures, search, route browsing, and map coverage, but buses are not included in trips or journey planning. NSW TrainLink intercity and regional services are excluded. Transport for NSW supplies the timetable data but does not affiliate with or endorse Sydline.

Do I need Apple Intelligence, and how are questions handled?

No. A built-in parser also handles plain-English questions. On supported devices, Apple Intelligence interprets typed questions on device, while transit facts come from the local timetable. Typed questions and timetable searches stay on your device. Voice transcription uses Apple’s Speech framework and may be processed by Apple when on-device recognition is unavailable. Optional live features send limited transit context and network information to the service; no account, advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking is required.
