The Problem
Small businesses often need a simple customer-facing display, but dedicated signage systems bring extra hardware, recurring fees, and setup overhead while a perfectly useful iPad sits unused in a drawer.
The Solution
SpareBoard puts that iPad back to work. Build a board from scratch or a sample, choose a designed template, import an existing price list, and run it full-screen with PIN-protected kiosk controls — all without an account or ongoing subscription.
What you get
Flexible menu and price boards
Create boards with organised sections, optional prices, opening hours, or any other information customers need to see.
Six designed templates
Start from a built-in sample, choose a polished template, and preview exactly how the finished board fits the current screen.
Full-screen kiosk display
Run a board in portrait or landscape, keep the screen awake, and protect the in-app exit with a PIN.
Content that fits the screen
Automatically arrange longer boards into columns or rotate through pages when everything cannot fit at once.
Private signup capture
Build a simple mailing-list or customer-interest form with your own fields and consent wording, then store every entry locally on the iPad.
CSV import and export
Import an existing price list by CSV, move boards in and out of the app, and export collected signup entries with Pro.
Questions
- Does SpareBoard need an internet connection?
- No. Boards and signup forms work offline. The only exception is Apple’s optional service for purchasing or restoring SpareBoard Pro.
- What is included for free?
- The free version includes one board of your own, the Counter template, CSV board import and export, and signup capture. Displaying a board is never locked.
- What does SpareBoard Pro unlock?
- SpareBoard Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited boards, all six templates, and CSV export for signup entries. There is no monthly subscription.
- Where are boards and signup entries stored?
- They stay on the iPad. SpareBoard has no account, analytics, or advertising, and does not send your business or customer data to a developer server.
